Cecile Clarke moved her museum, once housed in a spare room at Eureka High School to the Bank of Eureka building in the heart of Old Town. At the time, Old Town was not a particularly nice place, but Cecile believed that an institution like a museum may help uplift the area.

60 years later, the Museum is still here, and we continue Cecile's mission of educating the public on regional history and bringing history to more people.  Due to COVID-19, our original birthday plans have been modified to be physically distant, and we are working to raise $10,000 to support the museum through the prolonged closures prompted by the coronavirus outbreak. There are many ways to support the Clarke during our birthday week, including donating through our website or Facebook pages, becoming a member, sharing our content, or participating in the activities we're hosting.

Be sure to check out our schedule below and check back here for more updates as the birthday week gets closer.

Our Birthday Week is August 17-21, 2020
