This February, the Clarke Historical Museum is proud to feature the work of local painters Mia Hilfiker, Dean Smith, and Jesse Wiedel, a talented trio who embarked on a plein-air adventure to capture the breathtaking landscapes of Humboldt County.

Through vivid color and dynamic movement, their paintings offer unique perspectives of our region’s natural beauty, each reflecting their individual artistic styles.

Meet the Artists
Mia Hilfiker: An emerging artist whose vibrant pieces have been showcased at Epitome Gallery, the Redwood Art Association, and beyond. Known for her pink-and-blue palette, Mia steps outside her usual style for this special collection.
Dean Smith: A painter and educator with an MFA from American University’s program in Italy, Dean has taught drawing and painting at College of the Redwoods for over 20 years. Contact him at [email protected] or visit deansmith.info.
Jesse Wiedel: A Humboldt County artist with a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, Jesse has exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally. Explore his work at www.jessewiedel.com.

Join us in celebrating these incredible local artists!
