Pogeen, Clarke Canine
4/1/2012 - 4/13/2026
We are deeply saddened to announce that Pogeen, the Clarke Canine and official museum greeter, passed over the Rainbow Bridge the evening of Monday, April 13th, ushered out by her parents, Dave and Dana.
Pogeen, or Pógín, means “Little Kiss” in Irish. For six years she was the Clarke’s official museum greeter to hundreds of visitors, and she loved her job.
Pogeen believed that every day is Bring Your Dog to Work Day and took her job as greeter very seriously. She lived for affection and made sure everyone who entered the museum had an opportunity to get some puppy love. Getting skritches from adoring visitors was her favorite thing in the world, although running around Nealis Hall with the staff in the afterhours was a close second.
Pogeen had Degenerative Myelopathy, a progressive paralysis, and lost the use of her hind legs but not her loving personality or her work ethic. She continued to greet museum guests for as long as she was able and her spirit will no doubt continue to do so for many years to come.
We will miss our sweet love girl forever…
