The Clarke Museum is very well known for having an impressive collection of local basketry- not only in skill, but in quantity. In pursuit of sharing the collection with visitors, we regularly rotate baskets from storage to display. Current Nealis Hall Cases feature:
  • Dance Regalia
  • Women's Clothing
  • The Hover Collection
  • The Hailstone Collection
  •  The Becker Collection
  • Miniature baskets
  • Arrowheads
  • Fishing and hunting equipment
  • Local birds featured in regalia
  • How baskets are made
  • Gambling games
Over the course of the next month,  we will be rotating out some of the old displays and showcasing new ones on the following:
  • Baby baskets
  • Basket-wrapped bottles
  • Tobacco Baskets
  • Dentalium
  • Baskets with the Snake's Nose Design Pattern
  • Baskets with the Frog's Foot design pattern
You can see a few of the baskets that will be on display below:
