Remodeling the case took removing the collection, shelving and layers of fabric and carpet inside the case. From there it took a few passes of sanding and scraping to get to where we could prime and paint the walls.

It's been a while since I've updated the Hover Collection Display. I'm pleased to announce that a few months back, I decided to add a few more features and changes to the collection display. What a wonderful update to such an important collection. The care taken to strip back the outdated carpeting and repaint the case from scratch shows real dedication to preserving and presenting these pieces properly it's easy to overlook how much work goes into the physical infrastructure of a museum display. The new signage tracing the collection from Emma Pearch through to Lee Hover's 1983 donation adds such meaningful context for visitors.
